homeacasa project 2006-2008

HomeAcasa Project was a collaborative project between artists Valentin Boiangiu and Gabriela Boiangiu, brother and sister, both living and working in the UK.

The project also benefited from precious collaborative input from Phill Harding ('Domestic Sound Installation'), Ben Lear and Jamie Green ('Home to Home' video), Violeta Boiangiu ('Gypsy Lady Embroidery'), Murat Ozkasim (HomeAcasa ‘Cake’) and over 600 voluntary contributions for the 'House' installation. The artists are also very grateful to Patrick Eyres, Martyn Hill, Mervyn Lebor and Elena Butoescu who wrote some inspirational pieces for the HomeAcasa Catalogue.

HomeAcasa project toured from Bradford Gallery 1 in 2006, to Museum of Art in Craiova, and Gallery HT003 Bucharest, and Leeds Art Gallery in 2007 and culminated with a Last Chapter at the Dean Clough Gallery in 2008.

The project was financially supported by Arts Council England and the Romanian Cultural Institute London.
